This OVA is basically a two-episode flashback to when Shinku and Sugintou first meet, and reveals why they have such a grudge against each other. I was happy to see that Sugintou had a good reason for hating Shinku, rather than just suddenly deciding one day that she felt like becoming evil. I don’t watch OVAs too often, but this is another reason why I should start. The OP song, Baragoku Otome, is once again done by ALI PROJECT, in classic Rozen Maiden fashion. After quite a bit of time since finishing Rozen Maiden Träumend, I was afraid that I had already lost interest in anything Rozen Maiden. Though, after seeing Ouvertüre, if a third series is announced, I will be looking forward to it.

Just in time for the new year, I decided to make a list of the anime of the Winter 2007 season. However since there is a lot of new anime premiering, I will only list the anime that I plan on watching. So, anyway, here’s the list.

Lucky☆Star

Summary: Based on a 4-koma manga by Yoshimizu Kagami, serialised in Comptiq. Having fun in school, doing together homework, cooking and eating, playing videogames, watching anime. All those little things make up the daily life of the anime- and chocolate-loving Izumi Konata and her friends which is portrayed here. Sometimes relaxing but more than often simply funny!

This is the #1 show I plan on watching. Reasons include:
1)It’s done by Kyoto Animation, which is currently doing the Kanon remake.
2)The main character, like me, is a girl who can’t get enough of bishoujo games. :D
Even though I surprised that KyoAni is doing something as simple as a school comedy, seeing as how they are already good at comedy, I can’t imagine this failing.

Saint October

Summary: Whether it is the future or the past… it is the world of fantasy and horror hiding in the shadow of the demon city. In the city, consecutive mysterious incidents that cannot be solved by science have occurred. To solve the incidents, they gather three girl detectives possessing special abilities.Hayama Kotono. She is an orphan living in a convernt.
Shirafuji Natuski. She is Kotono’s classmate and a pop idol.
Hijiri Misaki. She is a mysterious girl who fights against nightmares of her previous life.Those who want to bring the Judgment Day to the world.
Those who want to save the world.
Which is justice, and which is evil?When Kotono encounters a boy who lost his memory, the wheel of the story begins to move but slowly. Then, solving the mysteries, the three girls will confront the fate that will influence the existence of the human beings.

I don’t know much about this, but I’m guessing it’s like a action/mystery. The three “detectives” look very cute and loli, so that’s enough to at least get me to check it out.

Kyoushirou to Towa no Sora

Summary: 10 years have passed since the most serious crisis of human beings. The story takes place at the giant academic city, Academia, which is the symbol of the recovery.
The main character Shiratori Ku is a high school girl who enjoys school life but she thinks her routine lives empty. She sometimes has the same dream, the dream in which a prince meets her.
While all the students are preparing for the school festival, the prince whom she has met over and over in her dreams appears. This is not in a dream, but in a real life. The prince named Ayanokoji Koshiro asks her in the same way like in the dream, “Come with me…”

Meh, hearing that this is supposed to have mecha in it, I’m not sure it will keep my attention. Right now, I’m only going to watch it for the uber-cute girls in this picture, it even has a maid! Plus, I guess I shouldn’t ignore an anime just because it has mecha.

Gakuen Utopia Manabi Straight

Summary: In 2035, because the number of children has decreased, many schools are in peril of closing. A student transfers to just such a lifeless school, “Saio Private High School”. What kind of wind will this active student, Amamiya Manabi, bring to the school?

From the looks of it, this is going to be a super moe, Ichigo Mashimaro kind of anime, which makes it a definite watch. If the anime really looks like this image, I’ll be even happier.

Venus Versus Virus

Summary: Luchia is an exterminator of Virus, the demon that eats men’s souls. When the needle of Luchia’s brooch happens to stick a psychic girl Sumire, she obtains strange power to see demons. Since then, demons begin to attack Sumire as if they were attracted by her power.

The artwork and character design looks good. Although, I’m not too sure about the Bleach-like plot. This is something I’ll most likely check out an episode or two for, unless I have too many other things to watch.

Hidamari Sketch

Summary: Yuno has just begun school where she always wanted, Yamabuki High School.
She moves out and into an apartment by herself in a complex called Hidamari-so, which is right in front of the school. There, she meets a classmate, Miyako, and a senior student, Hiro. Yuno`s days become hectic as she begins meeting the strange artists that live in her complex. Although she`s not used to her new life style, she begins to actualize her dream while being with these gentle friends.

From the summary, I’m pretty sure this is a slice-of-life, but I heard elsewhere that it’s a school comedy. The characters look cute though, and I could always use more moe anime, so I’ll give it a try.

Keitai Shoujo

No summary at the moment…

I’ve heard this is based off one of those “cellphone girlfriend” things where you pay real money to buy gifts for a virtual girlfriend. I’ve got a feeling this is going to fail for me like Tokimeki Memorial~ Only Love, but any bishoujo anime is hard for me to pass up.

Although there are still a few issues I’m trying to fix, I think I have most of Mizumi’s Anime Blog setup.

Anyway, here’s Kanon #13. Not as great as episode 12, but that waltz scene is pretty hard to beat. Mai was near the bottom of my list before, but now that it’s in the middle of her scenario, I have formed a much better opinion of her.
